Welcome to my blog!

I have been contemplating for a long time if I should join the world of blogging. To begin with, I don’t think my life is very “colourful” and full of spices? Hope my blog will not bore those who are reading (maybe a cure for insomnia)?! And my writing skill is not-that-very-fantastic, much less to say about my photography skill! I am always impressed by beautifully taken pictures on others’ blogs and can’t help worrying how people will react to my quite-ordinary-looking photos taken with my less-than-decent camera… Furthermore, blogging is a whole new world to me and I don’t know how long it will take for me to become more “blog-savvy”.

On top of that, I am busy attending all sorts of classes and workshops to improve on my baking skills; I don’t know how much energy I am left with at the end of the day from work and classes… Lastly, I am not sure how long my enthusiasm for blogging will last or when will I get lazy, blah blah blah, and the list goes on… =P

But after much procrastinating and from the encouragements of my colleagues-cum-friends-cum-buddies, I’ve decided to embark on the route of blogging! I hope to use this blog as a form of record for all my baking attempts, as well as day-to-day interesting events. This blog was also set up partly because I have just signed up for a cake baking course today and it will be a good way to document my progress from the course.

As many bakers have said, baking has a therapeutic effect, and I truly believe. This is especially so when the house is filled with the wonderful aroma of freshly baked goodies. I simply love it! Definitely a spirit booster especially when one is feeling down. One of my teacher ever said, she will go into a baking-frenzy when she is in a bad mood!

Personally I find baking very fun as you can play around with different ingredients and proportions. I can always reduce the sugar to cater to my family’s not-so-sweet tooth; add extra chocolate chips (confession of a chocoholic!) or replace or take away the raisins since I am not a fan. This is the beauty of baking your own stuff! Just let your imagination run wild and the possibilities are endless. Not to mention those bloggers who generously share their tried and tested recipes, and their knowledge and tips on baking a good cake.

Having said so much, let the journey begin ~
